Abstract

This article examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in fostering critical thinking skills among students. Critical thinking, a cornerstone of 21st-century education, enables students to analyze, evaluate, and create solutions to complex problems. AI technologies, such as intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, and natural language processing tools, provide personalized and interactive learning experiences that enhance critical thinking development. This study highlights how AI can support analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making processes by offering immediate feedback and dynamic learning pathways tailored to individual needs.The research also addresses challenges, including the ethical implications of AI use, data privacy concerns, and the necessity of training educators to effectively integrate AI tools into teaching practices. The findings suggest that AI has significant potential to transform traditional teaching methods and foster deeper cognitive engagement in students. Recommendations are provided for combining AI technologies with established pedagogical strategies to create a balanced and effective learning environment. The study concludes that AI, when thoughtfully implemented, can significantly enhance students’ critical thinking capabilities, preparing them for the demands of a rapidly changing world.
