One of the key concepts in this article is the use of distinctive features in biology lessons. The concept of "STEM education" has been introduced, and methods for developing students' research skills have been implemented. Experiences of applying global trends and approaches in various countries were analyzed. The advantages of technologies in the current education program were evaluated. Examples of interdisciplinary educational projects introducing students to STEM technologies in biology lessons were provided. Research was conducted among school students using STEM technologies. Reviewing the development of STEM in Kazakhstan, collaborative studies were carried out with prospective biology teachers from universities at Almaty Secondary School No. 176. During biology lessons, the 5E teaching cycle method was used as the basis for implementing STEM in biology lessons.
