Abstract

 
Reading literacy is a person's ability to understand and use written texts to achieve learning and life goals, increasing the scope and depth of subject and meta-subject knowledge. Expanding the concept of "reading literacy", we can draw the following conclusion: in order to rely on reading as the main form of learning, school activities, special reading skills necessary for primary school students should be full work with the text. Assessment of the level of development of reading literacy (PISA studies) is based on the text , while working with it, the student:
- find;
- extract;
- integration;
- explanation;
- understand and evaluate the content and form of the text.
Determining the level of development of reading literacy,
It is necessary to comply with the requirements for the proposed texts:
- wealth of information and diversity of material;
- areas that are not related to specific educational content;
- compliance with the student's age characteristics;
- correspondence to the student's learning and life interests.
The success of developing students' reading literacy in many cases depends on the skillful combination of traditions and innovations in education. Literacy is a person's ability to read, understand, create short texts and perform simple arithmetic operations. Functional literacy is an indicator of a person's ability to communicate with the external environment and the ability to quickly adapt to that environment and communicate.
Education is courage,
supplementing it is wisdom,
and skillful use is an art!
