Abstract

The relevance of the study is that teaching any subject should include the formation and development of reading and writing skills. This process should be based on educational material, primarily texts of different topics and genres, which should activate cognitive, creative, critical and communicative activities and thereby correspond to the concept of the integrity of the educational process. Reading literacy is a key aspect of education, contributing not only to the acquisition of knowledge, but also to the development of critical thinking and analytical abilities of students. It is especially important to develop in schoolchildren the ability to work with texts of various genres, which contributes to their confidence in interpreting information and forming their own conclusions. Action research "What techniques for working with text will help develop reading literacy skills in history lessons for 5th-grade students" is aimed at teaching students methods of analyzing historical texts, as well as realizing the importance of these skills in everyday life. The purpose of the study is to analyze the effectiveness of such a lesson and its impact on the development of students' reading literacy.
