LINGUISTIC FEATURES OF PHRASAL VERBS IN ENGLISH

Abstract

The purpose of this work is to explore the specifics of the use of phrasal verbs and the features of their translation into Russian, as well as to determine the place of phrasal verbs in English considering their lexical and grammatical features. The research objectives include conducting a theoretical analysis of available literature on phrasal verbs, providing a classification of phrasal verbs, analyzing English song lyrics for the frequency of phrasal verb usage, and determining the lexical and grammatical features of phrasal verbs. The relevance of this study lies in the complexity and importance of mastering phrasal verbs in English, as they are essential for authentic communication and comprehension of English speech. The scientific novelty of this work emphasizes the importance of phrasal verbs for communicative competence and their role in enriching speech. Research methods involve surveys among students and comparative analysis. The factual basis includes printed dictionaries, historical literature, and previously unused scientific data.
