The article is aimed at increasing first-grade students' love for reading in Kazakh language classes. The author explores various methods and techniques that help foster an interest in reading from the very first day of school. The article emphasizes the importance of creating an engaging reading environment, using folk tales and oral literature, reading texts aloud, and dramatizing stories. Special attention is given to the use of multimedia technologies and working with new vocabulary. The article also offers recommendations for teachers on how to involve parents in the reading process. The expected outcome is to develop not only children's language and speaking skills but also their emotional connection with books, which will contribute to forming a lasting love for reading.
