Abstract

Metacognitive concepts play an important role in modern education, especially in the context of cognitive development and improved learning in education. This article reviews the theories, research and practices related to metacognitive concepts in education and the definition of educational outcomes. It allows structuring learning activities taking into account metacognitive aspects, promotes deeper and more effective knowledge acquisition, development of critical thinking, self-regulation of learning activities.
