EDUCATIONAL POTENTIAL OF THE REGION: STRUCTURAL INDICATORS AND EVALUATION METHODOLOGY CONCEPTS

Human capital is an indicator that takes one of the leading places in economic development. And the importance of the category of "knowledge" as a system that is the basis for its formation is high. In recent years, scientists have shown great interest in studying the role of education in the economic growth of various countries. In the nature of economic development based on modern knowledge and abilities, the educational potential of a specific region is the main resource for the formation of the main regional competencies that ensure the creation of its socio-economic competitive advantages, investment attractiveness and the effective development of regional innovative subsystems, and the basis of sustainable socio-economic development. The article presents the rationale for the concept of educational potential and provides an explanation of the term. In addition, the relevance of the study of the educational potential on a regional scale is justified, and the factors affecting it from different perspectives are indicated.
