Abstract

In the modern educational process, effective management of instructional time is one of the important pedagogical factors contributing to learners’ achievement of learning objectives. In music lessons in particular, effective use of time requires teachers to plan the lesson structure appropriately, clearly define learning objectives, consider learners’ age and individual characteristics, and ensure the integration of theoretical and practical activities. The specific nature of music education is characterized not only by the acquisition of theoretical knowledge but also by the development of learners’ abilities to listen, perform, analyze, compare, engage in creative activities, and emotionally perceive musical works. Therefore, every minute of the lesson should be directed toward achieving specific learning objectives. This article examines the pedagogical significance of effective time management in music lessons, the characteristics of planning lesson stages, ways to increase learners’ engagement, and the potential of differentiated instruction and formative assessment. Particular attention is also paid to the appropriate use of digital technologies, effective allocation of time during listening to and performing musical works, and the organization of learners’ independent and creative activities. The article substantiates that effective use of time in music lessons is not determined by increasing the number of tasks but by ensuring their alignment with the intended learning objectives.
