Today, the increasing complexity of environmental problems at the global level places new responsibilities on the education system. One of these is the formation of students' ecological culture and the effective integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the educational process. This article examines the scientific and methodological foundations for developing students' ecological culture through the opportunities provided by geography education. It proposes approaches to fostering students' environmental responsibility, research skills, and civic engagement through project-based learning, field research, and the analysis of local environmental issues in geography lessons. In addition, the author presents the "Green School → Green City (GSGC)" scientific and methodological model and describes its potential application in school practice. The research project presented as a scientific and methodological model aims to demonstrate effective mechanisms for integrating the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals into geography lessons.
