This article explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) as an effective tool for designing project-based learning (PBL) in English language education. The integration of AI technologies into language teaching provides new opportunities for developing students’ communicative competence, creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative skills. AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and Canva AI support teachers in designing authentic project tasks, creating personalized learning materials, and providing instant feedback throughout the learning process. The study examines the pedagogical potential of AI in planning, implementing, and assessing project-based activities that enhance students’ language proficiency and active engagement. In addition, the article discusses the benefits and challenges of AI integration, including ethical considerations, academic integrity, and the responsible use of digital technologies. The findings indicate that AI-supported project-based learning promotes learner autonomy, increases motivation, and improves English language learning outcomes by creating an interactive, student-centered educational environment.
