GAMIFICATION: A MODERN APPROACH TO TEACHING INFORMATICS

This article examines the pedagogical foundations and effectiveness of using gamification technology in teaching informatics. Gamification is analyzed as a modern teaching approach that enhances students’ learning motivation, stimulates cognitive activity, and allows complex informational concepts to be mastered more easily and clearly. The study highlights that integrating game elements (point collection, levels, rewards, competitions, and feedback) into the learning process positively influences students’ algorithmic thinking, logical abilities, and digital competencies. In addition, gamification is shown to improve the quality of completing practical tasks, foster self-directed learning skills, and establish a positive attitude toward learning in informatics lessons. The article also presents experiences in using digital platforms and pedagogical conditions for the effective implementation of gamification.
