In the modern education system, developing functional literacy has become one of the main priorities in teaching English. In the context of the information society, the ability of students to effectively use their language knowledge in everyday life, academic settings, and professional environments is particularly important. In this regard, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in English lessons offers new opportunities for developing functional literacy. AI-based platforms provide tasks adapted to students’ proficiency levels and create an interactive environment aimed at improving reading comprehension, information analysis, listening, and speaking skills. Additionally, features such as automatic feedback, personalized learning paths, and modeling real communicative situations contribute to enhancing students’ language competence. This approach not only limits students to grammatical knowledge but also promotes the development of the ability to critically evaluate information, make decisions, and apply language resources in practical contexts.
