This article examines the role and significance of national motifs in modern decorative and applied art. It analyzes the preservation of a people’s spiritual values, historical heritage, and cultural identity through the contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Kazakh patterns and artistic elements. The study highlights the symbolic meaning of Kazakh patterns, their philosophical and cognitive content, and explores ways to integrate them with modern design. In addition, the use of eco-friendly materials, the incorporation of digital technologies, and the intersection of handicrafts with entrepreneurship are identified as new directions in the development of decorative and applied arts. The article also emphasizes the potential of national motifs in fostering cultural uniqueness, strengthening spiritual education, and promoting national art on a global scale.
