The IBL (inquiry-based learning) teaching technology is one of the effective pedagogical methods aimed at increasing students’ cognitive activity and developing scientific thinking skills in biology lessons. This technology views students not as passive recipients of ready-made knowledge but as active participants in the research process. By applying the IBL method in biology, students acquire skills such as observing natural phenomena, formulating hypotheses, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. The abstract highlights the advantages of inquiry-based learning in biology lessons, including its impact on learning motivation, critical thinking, and the development of functional literacy. Additionally, the methodological features of integrating IBL technology into the learning process and the teacher’s organizational role are described. The study results demonstrate that the IBL approach contributes to a deeper and more meaningful understanding of biology.
