INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH IN EDUCATION: NEW CHALLENGES IN PEDAGOGY

Abstract

The article analyzes contemporary challenges facing pedagogical science from the standpoint of an interdisciplinary approach. Special attention is given to the need for integrating pedagogy with other sciences—such as psychology, sociology, computer science, and cognitive studies—for more effective solutions to the complex educational issues of the 21st century. The author emphasizes that the rapidly evolving digital environment, changes in students' cognitive strategies, and increasing globalization demand new research models and forms of collaboration in educational science. The article outlines the main directions of interdisciplinary research in pedagogy, including educational digitalization, development of critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and project-based learning. It also examines examples of successful interdisciplinary initiatives and identifies potential risks such as blurred disciplinary boundaries, methodological inconsistencies, and coordination difficulties among research teams. The importance of cultivating a research culture open to collaboration and innovation is strongly emphasized.
