Abstract

This article discusses the critical role of breathing in vocal performance and highlights its physiological and vocal characteristics. Proper breathing during singing enhances vocal control, projection, and overall performance quality. The author proposes diaphragmatic breathing (also called “active inner breathing”) as the fundamental model for vocal respiration. This technique ensures effective lung expansion and supports a stable and free vocal tone. The article presents a system of exercises and practical examples to develop breathing skills in singers. It also addresses the scientific basis of diaphragmatic breathing, emphasizing its relevance and applicability in contemporary vocal training. The author explores how this model can contribute to developing vocal technique in both professional singers and students, suggesting directions for future research. The findings offer insights into modern vocal pedagogy and aim to improve teaching methods in music education. Overall, the study provides a comprehensive foundation for integrating scientifically grounded breathing techniques into vocal instruction.
