Abstract

The article analyzes modern modified proverbs found on websites through Google Search. Today, despite the increasing popularity of the Internet and social networks worldwide, the realm of the Internet in the Kazakh language remains one of the least studied areas. Accordingly, the research objective is to analyze the modification of traditional Kazakh proverbs in modern internet discourse, identify semantic and structural change patterns, and evaluate public perception of these modified forms (anti-proverbs), focusing on their linguistic and cultural implications. The research tasks encompass several actions, such as identifying and collecting modified proverbs (anti-proverbs) from Kazakh-language websites and social media platforms using Google Search; analyzing the linguistic and structural transformations of traditional proverbs, including simplification, distortion, or semantic shifts; classifying the modified proverbs into relevant sub-genres, with particular attention to the emergence and features of antiproverbs; and assessing user perceptions and attitudes toward modified proverbs through survey and interviews with students while providing recommendations for future research on Kazakh proverbs in digital communication and their role in contemporary language use.
