Abstract

This article focuses on the transformation of citizens’ digital identity in the context of the information society and its impact on political participation. The study analyzes the processes of digital identity formation using examples from Kazakhstan and global trends, with particular attention to the role of e-government platforms and social media within the framework of the “Digital Kazakhstan” state program. The author explores the potential of digitalization to enhance civic engagement, while also addressing critical issues such as digital inequality, disinformation, identity fragmentation, and the influence of major technological corporations. The research methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach, offering new scientific perspectives at the intersection of political science, sociology, psychology, and information technology. The article emphasizes the need to rethink professional practices under conditions of digital transformation. Furthermore, it provides recommendations for scientific communities and professional structures to adapt to the digital era and outlines directions for future research. Special attention is given to interdisciplinary paradigms as tools for explaining new forms of civic activism.
