FORMATION OF STUDENTS' READING SKILLS THROUGH THE USE OF VISUAL TEACHING METHODS

The article considers the place and importance of the visual method in the educational process. The visual method is one of the effective methods that increase students' cognition and facilitate their perception of knowledge through seeing and feeling. This method uses such tools as maps, diagrams, schemes, road signs, models, visual aids, mathematical symbols, natural objects, collections and herbariums, as well as slides, video films and movies. The author quotes the American educator Benjamin Franklin's saying: "Tell me, and I will forget; explain, and I may remember; and if you involve and interest me, I will learn”, the article draws attention to the role of the visual method in attracting students to the learning process and increasing their interest. In addition, the article provides examples from modern school practice and analyzes ways to increase the effectiveness of teaching through the use of the visual method.
