Since 2010, the cost of Li-ion batteries has decreased by 85%. In this regard, it is very important to study the main factors and develop new strategies for the development of sodium-ion batteries with high safety. This article compares sodium-ion batteries and lithium-ion batteries, considers the importance of biomass in their production, the synthesis process, and sets requirements for improving safety characteristics, as well as discusses possible problems in practical application.
