This study examines the concentration of lead in the soil of the Karaganda region and its environmental impact. Soil samples were analyzed from various industrial and residential zones to assess contamination levels. The findings reveal elevated lead concentrations, particularly near former mining and metallurgical sites, exceeding national and international safety standards. The ecological consequences include soil degradation, risks to plant and animal life, and potential health hazards for local communities through food chains and groundwater contamination. The study underscores the urgent need for soil remediation and stricter environmental monitoring policies in the region.
